Holiday Itinerary

• Day 1 :    Fly  to  Marrakech  

Join Tour in Marrakech. Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting.

Complimentary airport transfers are provided for clients arriving on this day.

• Day 2 :   Marrakech  -  Tizi n Tichka  -   Tagdilt        

After an early breakfast we drive across the Western High Atlas through traditional Berber villages towards the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260m), the highest road pass in Morocco. The afternoon sees us reaching Ouarzazate as our road continues through the Dades Valley "the valley of one thousand kasbahs." Tagdilt brings our day to an end as we overnight in a local village house.

• Day 3 :     Tgdilt  -  Tizi Ouzarzam (2300m) 

Today the trekking starts as we head off with our muleteers, initially through a small oasis before passing barley fields and fig trees. As we start ascending the volcanic flanks of the Saghro we'll see nomadic shepherd camps before we head over the Tizi Ouzarzam (2300m). From the pass we'll descend to a small oasis where we prepare for our first experience camp under canvas.

• Day 4 :    Mount Kouaouch (2600m)  -  Tassigdel

Today sees us hike to the highest point on our trek - Mount Kouaouch (2600m). From the top we'll have time to take "summit photos" and experience a stunning panorama ranging from the snow-capped peak of Mount Mgoun in the north to the vast expanse of the Sahara to the south. After descending we'll set up camp near the rocks of Tassigdel (the camel's hump!).

• Day 5 :   Tassigdel   -  Id Bab n Ali   

Today's trekking covers some of the most spectacular scenery in the Jebel Saghro inhabited by the semi-nomadic Ait Atta Berber. The area offers beautiful towering rock pinnacles and impressive formations including the 60m high monoliths of Bab n'Ali (Ali's Gate). This whole area is reminiscent of the landscape in Monument Valley and a memorable place to camp and explore.

• Day 6 :   Id Bab n Ali   -  Jbel Saghrou

 Our final day of walking heads through a number of villages as we pass farms growing an abundance of crops including wheat, clover and chillies. The hiking continues along streams which are in sharp contrast to the brown/red colors of the surrounding hills and we'll set up our final camp in this stunning landscape where we'll really appreciate its natural beauty

• Day 7 :  Jbel Saghro  -  Ait Ben Hadou  -  Marrakech

We depart the Jebel Saghro on wild roads through snow-capped Atlas peaks passing areas used for the filming of Lawrence of Arabia! Arriving in Marrakech for a late afternoon check-in we'll have time to experience the colorful Djemaa-el-Fna which comes alive as darkness falls.

• Day 8 :  Marrakech Airport

Transfer to the Marrakech airport.

Flight back home.
