Toubkal National Park Trek 

This Morocco Toubkal National Park trek begin in Okaimeden the ski station resort for winter time. Includes a night by the spectacular natural lake of Ifni in addition to local Berber summer sheepfolds. Hike through juniper forests, past Berber villages and over passes climbing steadily to a refuge at Neltner. From Neltner we set out to nearby peaks including an attempt on Mount Toubkal. 

During the summer, the ascent of Toubkal is nothing more than a trek, steep in places, but otherwise straightforward and non-technical. In the winter, when the mountain is usually snow covered, crampons and a single ice-axe are required and previous experience of winter mountaineering.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
    Arrive in Marrakech and explore its vibrant streets, markets, and historical sites.

  • Day 2: Marrakech – Oukaimeden (2600m) – Tachdirt (2500m)
    Drive to Oukaimeden and begin trekking through stunning mountain landscapes to Tachdirt, a high-altitude Berber village.

  • Day 3: Tachdirt (2500m) – Likemt Pass (3550m) – Azib n’Likemt (2600m)
    Cross the challenging Likemt Pass, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views before descending to Azib n’Likemt.

  • Day 4: Azib n’Likemt (2600m) – Tizi n’Ourayn (3100m) – Amssouzart (1740m)
    Trek over Tizi n’Ourayn Pass, passing through lush valleys and remote villages before reaching Amssouzart.

  • Day 5: Amssouzart (1740m) – Ifni Lake (2300m)
    Hike to the stunning turquoise waters of Ifni Lake, the only alpine lake in the High Atlas.

  • Day 6: Ifni Lake (2300m) – Ouanoums Pass (3650m) – Neltner Refuge (3207m)
    A steep ascent over Ouanoums Pass leads to Neltner Refuge, the base camp for the Toubkal summit.

  • Day 7: Summit of Toubkal (4167m) – Return to Neltner Refuge
    An early morning climb to the highest peak in North Africa, followed by a descent back to Neltner Refuge.

  • Day 8: Neltner (3207m) – Imlil (1750m) – Drive to Marrakech
    Descend through scenic valleys to Imlil, then drive back to Marrakech for a well-deserved rest.

  • Day 9: Transfer to Marrakech Airport – End of the Trek
    Depart from Marrakech, marking the end of your trekking adventure.
